If someone made a nice bolt in TT kit for $6000-7000 I would have done it in a second. The only good available IMO kit is the TTIX kit and I rather spend $5500 on an ECS kit and have $4500 for other mods than $10k for the turbokit and try to squeeze it in.
From: Greater Detroit Metro MI, when I'm not travelling.
If the price was the same I'd much rather have turbos: More power under the curve and the ability to modulate boost by gear.
For the price though, you can't touch a centrifugal system.
Also on our platform there are a lot of complaints about being unable to adequately cool the engine with a twin turbo system (lots of cars overheating in the summer).
If price was the same for SC and TT (or if price was not a factor), I'd go turbo, build a motor and make 1300+. For 720 whpr on stock internals, it's a no brainer - ECS 1500. If I did. It again, I'd still use a blower.
My background is turbo (hks dealer in the late 80s, early 90s with a nasty MKIII supra turbo). I loved being able to adjust the boost and let anyone drive my car.
My last car was a fairly modded evo 9 (turbo) they both have their own feel! You can't beat the ECS kit for the money tho! Pricing the same and I would have gone tt just because it's what I was used to. If I was looking for 800whp+ tt is the way to go for sure. Anything under and sc wins hands down!
I ride in my friends TT Camaro all the time and that thing is a blast. The thing I like the most is the ability to turn the boost up and down. I don't regret my decision though cause I'm having a blast with my Procharger and there is always the ability to control boost with the waste gate if I want that feature.
