Default Fuel pump options

2008 Base MN6 with Novi 1500 supercharger. About 8 psi and ~600rwhp.

Currently running stock pump with KB boost a pump. On the dyno, lost fuel pressure at 4500 rpm. Since discovered a broken wire causing BAP not to kick in. After fixing it, I am still losing pressure at 5800 rpm ( dropped below 55psi ).

Right now I am thinking either dual Walbro 255s, or Aeromotive 340 with the BAP. I know the dual Walbros should be plenty, but is it a better solution than the 340 and BAP? Will the 340 fit without modifications? How much can the 340 handle without a BAP?

Id rather not make major modifications to the fuel system, like new lines. Shouldn't be necessary for my power level.

Get the ECS stage 1 system it will provide plenty of fuel for what you have and you won't have to remove the tank to do it.

I'm going bigger with my fuel system and have the Ecs stage 1 stuff that should be good to 750-800 whp. Shoot me a pm if interested.

if thats what it cost + labor I would do a walbro 450 intank. the walbro is ~$180 labor to put it on would be around $400-600 so way less than $1400 that you will spend on just the kit.

if you do the install your self, you will be saving a lot!

I will be doing to labor myself. Where can you find it for $180? Everywhere I see is $220-250

Dropping the tank isn't fun. I would have to do the math tomorrow, but I'm probably half of the $1400 you mentioned.

What's in the install kit? Racetronix has them for $170, I think I just need a sock and maybe a wiring adapter correct?

What's involved to install one? Does it just drop into the stock bucket?

The bottom is bulged out, making me think it will take at least some modification. I can't seem to find much about people who have actually done the swap.

I did find out that the 450 (e85) pump flows slightly more than the 400, it's actually rated at 416 lph. Also for reference, the part number for the 450 pump is F90000267.

I ordered one last night, along with a Racetronix harness to pull power directly from the alternator rather than through the stock wiring. If I get everything in I might swap it this weekend. If I do, maybe I'll get some pictures while I'm at it. Depends if I'm pressed for time.

Looks like a good setup, but still more than I wanted to spend. I picked up a Walbro 450 for $170 and a Racetronix adaptor (runs dedicated power line from alternator). Pump should be in Monday, may get to it during the week, if not the following weekend.

Well I got the Walbro 450 installed. Ended up cutting a hole in the side of the bucket for the sock, since it doesnt come with a venturi to keep the bucket full.

Took the car out tonight, without the boost a pump, it started losing pressure a little over 5k rpm. With the boost a pump, I was able to run it to 6500rpm but my low pressure alarm came on right at the very end (<55-58psi or so). I'm estimating I was putting out around 600rwhp.

Don't know whats going on, this should be able to pump plenty of fuel for my setup. Back to the drawing board I guess.

do you have a picture of how you modified your bucket by any chance??

also did you figure out why you are losing pressure? this pump should be good all the way to 700whp!!!!

curious why no one runs a ZR1 pump? seems like it would be plug and play. i know the ZR1 pump supports alot of power.
