Default DIC message

Just had upgraded valves/springs, etc, cam and D1sc installed on my 08. After some heavier driving (not excessive, just slightly spirited) and I begin to deccelerate and downshift, I get a DIC message that illuminates for just a few seconds that says something along the lines of "engine control active" (or something like that). Anyway, does anyone else get this message, or am I the only lucky one?

i have an 07 zo6 also got that same message till i figuresd out that computer will cut horse power from engine when you are spinning your tires with the traction control engaged or competive driving engaged, but if you take out of those two and keep the traction control off you will not see that! has to do spinning of the wheels and engine trying to control your car from spinning out! might say built in safety item to keep you going straight? making any sense?

Engine drag control active? Did you change tire sizes at all by chance?

When you are downshifting, you might be chirping the back tires. Drag control is intended to apply a little throttle to accelerate the back tires up to the same speed as the fronts to prevent loss of traction and control.

It's definitely not being shifted that aggressively. I also get the message when I rev to appx 4K, clutch to shift into higher gear and it'll show up between shifts.

Probably. If you went from a 325/30/19 to a 345/30/19 that's a .59" difference in tire height. So the car now thinks the back tires are rotating more slowly than the fronts. The "drag control" message seems to be a common result of this from what I've seen. My guess is when you downshift the car thinks the slower rear wheel speed is the tires chirping/locking up.

But it's not a issue, right? I'm not "hurting" the engine, correct?! Thanks!

Stock front, and just went from a 325/30/19 to a 345/30/19 in the rear.

hmm... I went with a set of drag wheels that had a large 28" rear tire, and for one day only I had 'engine drag'/service abs/service active handling/ect. I put my regular wheels/tires back on and it went away, then put the drag wheels back on and it never came back again.

I wouldn't think you were anywhere near the max % difference between front/rear with just that rear tire change. It also sounds like it's slightly different than my issue that tripped all kinds of other warnings.
