Forced Induction Clutch
Looking for some input on a new clutch setup. The current project is a 7500rpm TT LS2. I'll run a zr1 trans and z06 diff. I'm trying to decide on the clutch now for a street car. ~850rwhp.
Three top options in no particular order:
The wife had the DYAD in her GTO and it was a great clutch. No chatter, quiet, etc. 9/10. The only thing I wanted more out of it was the ability to slip it a bit more as it engaged just a touch quicker than I like.
I've driven a Katech LS9X (not R) and it was great. I loved the pedal, slip, etc. I've just not driven an R and don't think the X could hold up to the power per their ratings. I just want to know how much of a difference we're talking and any concerns.
I've not been in or driven a Mantic 9000 car, but I've heard good things and so it made the list.
Thoughts?

I wish I could comment on the Centerforce, but I have not driven one, we have been very happy with the Mantic line so we have stuck with it.
If you decide to go with the Mantic, PM me, we have some winter specials going that include a bleeder-pilot bearing and shipping.

I have an LS9R, or whatever the heavier duty one it. I'm going to pull it out as soon as I can to swap to either a RXT or Mantic 9k. The Katech unit is great but for 800+rwhp I just don't think it will last.

I have the DYAD and dig it. Not a heavy pedal nor does it chatter. It's very slippable on the street IMO and grabs at the track which I like. Rated at 1100 tarks.

After hearing so many people have success with the McLeod RXT and finding it for a great price, I went that route. I had an LS9R that I was going to use, and I still think it might have been ok based on how well my stock clutch lived at 630whp, but decided to go ahead and upgrade since my hp goals kept creeping higher and higher.

I always believe to get the best, even if it was over kill for my application which was 800+ I am very comfortable about my decision because it feels better than the spec and a little harder than factory.
Spec dual clutch is very hard on your drivetrain, it hooks very well, maybe too well, because it don't slip when needed at drag racing and because of its capability it breaks almost every part in the drivetrain, I broke the back half of my transmission, all the axles and a rear with the spec dual clutch, but if its not for drag racing it could probably be a very good clutch.
Hope my 2cents worth something.

Check out the Monster Twin Discs. They have 3 levels up to 1500 hp. They have a 2 year warranty. The clutch is fully rebuildable, even the clutch fingers. It costs $500 to have it rebuilt and that resets your 2 year warranty when it's rebuilt. Can't go wrong with them IMO.... I had a RPS twin disc before it and the $1000 to rebuild it was crazy.

I have no problem slipping the SPEC clutch so I dont know where that comes from unless it was not properly installed or break in was not followed. I have not broken nothing (knock on wood) since its been in. I also make mid 900's to the wheels and it feels great.
There have been many many clutch debates in the last 10+ years. People say this and people say that. I honestly think that if you are buying a triple disk, its way overkill unless you have godzilla tark and power. My .02
