Default Anyone max out a single Walbro 450 on E85?

Curious on how far you can push the Walbro 450 on E85. How much power has this new pump been able to support? My car is making 640 n/a currently and I am adding a small shot (~75) on top of that. I just had a 450 installed and would like to know if I should pick up a BAP.

It's rated for cars over 700 so don't see why you have any issues with it on the corn and sauce.

There more like a 430. Lol.

From walbro they are rated to around 680 on e85. So that's around 825-850 on pump gas.

Idk limit. But I have two of them and love them.

What's involved with installing one of these in the stock fuel pump module/hanger?

Walbro claims 750+ on their website. 750 crank is short of what I will be at on spray. I fear I will need a BAP still.

I believe it is 750 on E85 for the 450 which sounds about right.

Since we run these at such high base pressure you have to take that into account also. The pumps really drop off quick after 70-80 psi and we run 60 ish base so....

Cody if you can buy a block off for the passenger side fuel tank and take the regulator out. Set your base fuel pressure at 43 or 45 or whatever the tuner wants it to be at. As far as the fuel pump itself is concerned, abuddy of mine who is running Pro EFI on his Supra with a 66mm made right at 700whp on E85 on one Walbro 450. We were going to go back to the dyno because he bought a 72mm hoping it would be a direct bolt up but nope so we never got a chance to see where the pump would of maxed out by turning it up some more. All of this was done through a single -6 feed line so I'd say you are definitely good for 700whp now how much more you want past that is up in the air at least from what I've seen with the pump. Good luck with it.

No experience with one on a boostapump cranked up but at 22v it should be close to 1000whp capable on e85.

Did walbro change the name??

All my suppliers still have it as walbro 400 for both. The non e85 part number ends 62. The e85 ends in 67. But both are 400's.

When you guys with c6 and later c5 tanks do these block off plates in the tank and lower the fuel pressure does the fuel transfer system still work?

Walbro also has a 485 out now and it supposedly flows 30% more than the 400's. I have one of the 485's in my driver side tank and I'm using a Weldon 2345 sumped off the driver side tank as well. Would of gone dual Wally's but like mentioned above the base of the pumps are to big and they do not fit.

Yep that's the whole point of it. If you don't do the block off and you try and lower the fuel pressure the crossover tube will not work correctly.

a quick Google search releives that the Walbro 485. is this part number. F90000267

^^^^ that is the same part number as the Walbro 400(E85)

I see. I wasn't sure if the transfter system was like a early c5 in that you can't seem to lower the pressure much under 55psi and have the venturi still work.

As he said above I believe you are either getting the e85 400 or the normal one. I don't think they have a bunch of pumps that are different, but vendors tend to change up naming and pressure that they rate them at.
