Wow that is crazy. Really good to hear that people are able to run so much power on the ls7.

400 shot? Is that like straight line no jetting? Lol. That would be like 4 passes on a 15 lb bottle, if that.

Not sure if you are serious, but if that's legit... oh damn.

Nowhere in this list does it mention rebuilding the heads so you won't drop a valve. I wouldn't spend all that money and still have the possibility of grenading your engine. $10k is crazy to pay for what you have listed also.

I was going to do the valve guides and upgrade valves, no it isn't in the quote, I never mentioned it to them. That quote is 6 months old.

It's good to see that lots of people think that it is over priced. Hopefully I can find a good speed shop to do it the work for less, that would be a bonus!

Work is in process now at the performance shop where all my vehicles are done. They've already got the heads out and off to the guys who do the actual porting and polishing. Same guys will install valve guides and valves, then send the heads back to the shop. I didn't think it was such a "bargain", but don't care. These guys have done a lot of work for me over the past few years - including lifts and performance packages on my trucks, and I have never had to go back once for the same thing. They are not on the cheaper side of the scale when it comes to cost, but they are great to deal with and do fantastic work, so worth every penny. They have also come to my home to change all the fluids in one of my zero-mileage collector cars, kinda like a Dr. doing house calls, LOL. Last summer, they built my FGT to just under 800 RWHP and the work they did on that car was outstanding! They are about to do a 6" lift kit in my Sierra Denali 3500 HD DRW as well...and I'm sure it will end up perfect, as does everything else they have done for me. I learned long ago that you get what you pay for in this life...good and bad.

I am near Montreal, Quebec. The shop who does the work for me is actually a race car builder located 30 miles from me. If you're located say in Ontario or Quebec...you would fare well either bringing the car to them - or having it shipped to them to do the work. While there are a lot of shops capable of doing this type of work, there are a handful who are capable of doing it well. When someone tells me that porting and polishing aren't needed in an LS7 because they "flow well", and they want to charge me 10K for the work you have listed, without valves and valve guides on an LS7, I stay clear of them, especially because they didn't include the valve/ valve-guide change in the package. That is the most crucial of all the work to be done in your LS7. The only reason I'm doing the blower/ cams and heads is because I realized that if I was going to keep my Z, I needed to do some preventive maint on her, which is when I decided to add some ponies to her. Shoot me a PM if you're interested and I'll put you in contact with these guys, but honestly, don't even think about doing any work to upgrade power, unless you attack the exhaust valves and valve guides beforehand; otherwise, you're playing Russian Roulette.

That's the thing, this shop is well known with a good reputation that's why i got them for the quote. i did some more talking and they do have valves and guides to upgrade. Also the guy I'm talking to also has an 06 z with a cam and a few other mods, he said he ported his heads and only gained 15hp so he didn't think it was worth the money.
