You're at least the second guy that has mentioned this. However, I spoke with Edelbrock tech guy this morning, and I asked him that EXACT question, and he said the canned tune would flash in OK.
I guess I would just use the canned tune and then drive carefully over to my tuner's shop to have it checked/tweaked.
I wish things were a little clearer on this point though.......
You'll never regret being too cautious. Having your tuner double check is a good idea. I just got the tuner kit and towed to the tuner, saved the money on the handheld.
Have fun
Yeah, I am 99% settled in on the #1591 599hp kit. There's a $500 rebate until end of year, so my total cost should be around $7500 and then another $500 for fuel pump install and tuning, so I am at ~$8000 grand total.
Can anyone tell me - how difficult is it to pin the crank??? I just can't believe the LS3 crank snout has no key.........
Thanks very much, Dave F.
not bad, if you do it with the intake off before you put the blower on. just jack the engine up to the fire wall and spread the cradle off the motor mounts. I did it with a right angle drill,
There is a thread on here somewhere about it
