If my gauge and pod shows up by Thursday, I'm going to try and get Matt Soriano to tune it. He's in town this week tuning at a shop right outside my Sub-Division ( I could push my car there, LOL).
You have mail.. Matt would be a great candidate to tune it for you!
I just spoke to Matt and he is pretty booked up, so make sure you get on the list fast!
Yeah I know but I did not know anything about him being local until I happen to see a posting by the shop on Facebook. I probably won't make it in time (though I'm still holding out hope)
Hey M M Alexander... Im at FAST all day today... I have a few good tips for you on the installation and I can help you with the BAP.. Come on over easier to discuss in person Ill be glad to give you the run down and draw up the diagram.
Would be my pleasure to tune it since I worked at ECS and we are a huge distributor its our choice for Corvettes and Camaros only using the ECS kit
I think I could do it with the engine "warm" in under 10
My arms are too big to fit without hitting stuff while reaching down to the crank. With a long sleeve I can do it if it is hot but prefer to do it when its cool.
Word on the street is you finish a lot of things in under 10 minutes.

I finally got it to Matt late last night (around 9:30) and he will be tuning it today.
I must say, I was hanging out at the shop with Matt for a good while earlier that afternoon and watched him tuning some cars. He goes above and beyond anything I've ever a seen a tuner do. He was running compression checks, fixing grounding issues, filling trannys, I mean he WORKS as he tunes the car. This one Camaro ( that he did the above work on) was there for 6 hours on the dyno ... It had been worked on by 2 different shops and ran like pure dog **** ( owner was going to trade it off last week and it was a spotless 2010 with 20K on it) ... By 10:30 that night when Matt had finished the road testing to tune the transmission (that came in needing 5 quarts of fluid) ... The owner had what amounted to a new car!
Once again, I have never seen a tuner work that hard while operating/tuning on the dyno.

I bought my coilovers through Matt. He got everything handled even when Pfadt wasn't being too open with communication. Gave me his personal number over the holidays to keep me updated on everything. No surprise he went above and beyond tuning the car. Glad to hear you are getting a good tune on your car. Can't wait to see some final numbers.
Downward thrust of the loud pedal takes it from Bruce Banner to The Incredible Hulk! in full on Beast Mode! It's really a different car when I "need" it to be

Okay ... I could NOT live with the Transmission Temperature constantly being at or above 200* (what the fork is GM engineering thinking with that). Below 190 the trans shifted like a champ ... as the temps crept in the 200's I would get occasional flares in third when driving it hard. It was to the point I was scared to drive the car aggressively at all.
I decided a transmission cooler was a definitely needed and ordered a B&M 70298.
I welded some aluminum right angle to the ECS cradle spacer (also noticed the factory weld on the cradle had separated so I fixed that while i was under there )
For the lower mount, I made an aluminum plate and bolted it to the cradle using 2 unused holes already present on the cradle
I then drilled and bolted on another piece of aluminum right angle and mounted the cooler. I re-purposed the rubber grommets from the factory air box for use on the tranny cooler
Using the included Temp switch and a SPST relay to allow for the temp switch to turn on the fan @ 170 - 180 degrees along with an interior mounted toggle to manually control fan.
Nice work M M Alexander.. You are 100% correct too, the 6L80E's hate being over 200*, just a HUGE difference in the few degrees of temperature.
It's hard to understand how GM sends the car out without an external cooler (they could have sold it as an optional item). No way you could drive 6L80E Vettes in the summer months of Houston - I just can't fathom it faring well.
Awesome install and thanks for sharing
Yeah, I guess if someone else looks into installing a cooler and searches, this may come up as a help/how-to.
