How are most guys running the PCV system on cars with twins wondering how i should do it on my LSX build probably run a single plane or sheet metal intake with a flat valley cover.
5 lines in total. 3 in 2 out. I made the catch can. It does not have a check valve because it goes to the intake pipes of the turbos so there will always be vacuum.
if you want a pcv system it will need to work like stock and use intake manifold vacuum for fresh air exhange into the crank case
here is what i did, my pcv can is sealed under vacuum and vents freely with crankcase pressure.
the only change for twin turbo is the fresh air inlet would just need to go to one turbo, but could be split to both.
i decided to use a single -10 inlet from valve cover vs. the stock hoses. (changed from -6 to 10 on the can after photo), and mounting for c6z application
So what is the better system on a street driven car that i dont want to smell or see oil? Is the pvc system needed if you pull from the valley/valve covers by using the turbo inlets and is it possible to pull to much from the crankcase that way?
pcv system is what the factory wants, its what the law wants, and a closed system would be the only way to not smell or see oil.
improving on their design with a nice catch can in there, and further one that can withstand high hp and associated blowby is icing on the cake!
you wont pull too hard on the crank case by simply using the turbo air filter suction (well not unless you have a clogged or terribly undersized air filter) but it would be a good place for a catch can as well.
