exactly. trying to keep people from completely wasting thousands on this board is difficult sometimes!
yes we saw the fast intake come apart but have yet to see a stock intake do it. but also seen fast intakes that holds up with higher boost levels (actually only one! and I am surprised its still holding up at 24psi) will see for how long though lol!!
Wilson billet intake is the only one to go with for stock hood clearance.
Other companies make them with short runner lengths to clear the hood and lose huge HP & TQ in the low to mid RPM range.
The one PMC intake I saw gained ~50hp at 6k+ but gave up a ton of low end. For a car revving 6-8k it would be nice gains but on a street car it killed the torque and power <5k. I think that will be the case for all of the sheet intakes.
Was that with short or tall runners? from what I've read going Tall runners on FI setup will lose alot of low end.
my friend just started his new setup ERL 427ci Mast heads with PMC Short runner intake shooting for 1500+rwhp with HP Kit twin PTE 7675s turbos on C6.
Interesting thread. My shop in building an intake for one of their shop cars. I am curious to see how it works out. If good, I will try and convince them to make me one for my next build.
When its completed I will add results here or tell them to do it themselves.
Just sent my Hogan LS7 intake into Nitrous Outlet to have them fab up the nitrous hard lines. Also adding 8 more ports to run direct meth as well. Won't have before and after's but will see how it works maxing out a F1X. Running a cowl hood to help with clearance.
