Default E Force SC **** New Upgrades****

Ok to give you a little back ground. I purchased my 09 ls3 auto z51 package bone stock early March and decided I wanted to add some hp. I wanted something reliable and nothing to wild, so I went with a Edelbrock E Force 1590 kit. When the kit was installed I had them use the 3.5" pulley and added Lg cat less headers 1 7/8, the car made 510 rwhp and 518 tq at 6-7lbs of boost on 93 pump gas. I was happy at the time and saw that many ls3's with the same set up were around 475-520rwhp. That all quickly came to an end about a week later and decided I wanted a little more getty up lol. So I started doing some research and decided on the following mods….

3" SC Pulley #15822
90mm ATI Idler Pulley #916208-76
Edelbrock upgraded belt tensioner #15034
Gatorback belt #4061030
MSD Programmable Fuel Pump Voltage Booster #2351
FIC 1000CC Injectors
E85 FUEL
HP Tuners Tune by DSMLIGHTS Forum member.

Car made 600 rwhp & 589 tq @ 10-11lbs of boost with only two degrees of timing. I need to buy a smaller belt due to the belt slipping a little but other then that I am the happiest guy around town.

Yeah when running E85 it allows for the tuner to add more timing. He told me he could have added another 2-5 degrees of timing and made more power, but I was happy with those numbers and more importantly how the car was behaving.

Sounds great. Should be a blast to drive. Something not right with that timing number though. Never seen a car run good on 2 degrees.

hmmm I think you maybe mistaken on the amount of timing you are running. Doubt you made that kinda power on 10psi and 2 degrees. plus E85 likes a lot of timing

And by the way. The 90mm idler helps prevent belt slip, but belt size is key. Get a few different sizes to try (return the ones you don't use) and put the shortest one you can get on.

Yeah we were surprised on how much power it was making and i didn't really want to push it much more. Just by getting the air fuel ratio good it brought the hp up a lot so he added 2 degrees and it hit 600rwhp i told him i was happy with that. Maybe once i get the smaller belt Ill have him add some more timing to see what it makes.

I think you may have "adding two degrees" and "two degrees of total timing" confused. With E85 being a higher octane fuel, adding 2 degrees is totally understandable. Having only 2 degrees of advance total isn't.

Yeah its definitely not a total of 2 degrees. He added 2 to what was already on the tune.

My new E-force 554 has 15 degree's of timing in it on 93 octane with 11.7% air to fuel mix making 42 more HP than the handheld flash that comes with the kit.

great setup, similar to my friend's built 402ci ls2 c6. When he started seeking more power by adding camshaft & AFR heads and 2.85" pulley,,, belt slip faced and Edelbrock recommended an upgraded idler pulley to take care of belt slipping issue.. we will see the result later.

Like to know the results also as that's very similar to my set up. If you remember when it's done, please let us know.

Just got my car back last night.

E-Force 599 kit and added 3.25" pulley, LG 1-7/8" headers, high flow cats, 3" X-pipe, B&B PRT mufflers. End result is 580 rwhp at 5,850 rpm and 611 rwtq at 4,100 rpm.
