About 1yr/3k miles... 60-160mph at a time, lol. Seriously though, I run my car really hard when it comes out, so I knew my days might be numbered.

It just had a stock crank, some cheap eagle H beam rods and wiseco pistons (that I'll carry over). Made between 179psi-186psi on a compression test the day before the oil pressure issue was noticed. I'm curious if turning it up hurt the stock crank, also had some filling rattling misfires wot around 4k that it took a while to diagnose as misfires vs a driveline issue, so that probably wasn't kind on the bearings. Plus my clutch preload issues that could have worn out the thrust bearing.

I am running a similar grind to what you have now in my 377 with a Ti trim.

Talked to Arun and I'm thinking about moving up to the 'jam' cam, 230/242. He said it could be good for ~20-25whp

Are you out of blower right now? Can you pulley down a bit more? Are you really going to notice 20rwhp at the 1000rwhp level? It's your money though. I'm like you and I like to mess with stuff. That's why my new motor has a different cam in it, lol.

Would that cam have a noticeable lope and is that the cam Breecher was making reference to earlier in the post.

You mention misfiring, curious how the reluctor wheel looked?

For the most part, yes.. Its a little different than the Jam Cam. Who knows if the difference was worth anything though. I still need to find the cam card.

I'm already overspinning ~10% with my pulley swap this spring.

For $370, that's probably the cheapest 20whp I've purchased

Plus you can never have enough power... especially hoving right below the magic 4 digit mark :p

It was actually cured by new plugs and wires. It was the wierdest thing though, it literally felt like something in the torque tube/trans connection broke loose and was going to explode through the floor. Had to do a few low rpm sweeping 4th gear pulls to recreate and finally got a CEL/traction/active handling flash that led me to misfires vs. hardware issues in the driveline.

I've got the 230/242 cam from Arun, but in a 427/ Ysi combo.

It won't hurt. I could see it making 15-20 more peak with the same pulleys.

I assume it won't soften up my 3,400-3,900rpm range. That's actually where I start from -60mph and it works pretty good now

It may soften things a little under 4K due to the later intake valve closing.

With the LSA heads and a centri you dont see quite the gains from stepping up duration that you do on a cathedral head.
