Default traction issues

Well just pulled the trigger on a fi system for my 2010 Vert GS. Heartbeat, cam, headwork, upgraded fuel system, 1 7/8 AR headers and full x system exhaust, and double disc clutch. Need some info on what rear tires to use on stock rear rims 19x12 want to use the stock rear rims for sleeper look but need a combo that hooks up. Did a search and did not find much for my rim combo here. Car will be done in a couple of weeks and need to order tires and an extra set of rims by then. My car is a 6 speed man and friends say it should blow off the stock tires in the first couple of gears. Need some ideas.

The only decent tire that fits stock rims is the nt05R. Will probably still have issues with teh PD blower/cam. If you really want to hook I would go down a few sizes. Downsizing rims is one of the best mods to a FI vette.

I agree...either buy some sidewall height or buy a ProEFI EMS w/ traction control.

I agree with you guys about rim sizes, it is just that it is obvious when you have the different rims on the back to others.

They make some 18x12 knock offs that look like the fronts, or just buy matching fronts.

Otherwise you can run the nt05r which are decent. Friend went 10s on them easy enough, but they aren't great for 600+

I went 10.6 with the 345/30R19 NT05R's on my last Z06 so they will work, but my car was only making ~550whp at that time. I'm not sure what power level you're shooting for, but on the street I would agree that 1st will become useless and 2nd will spin from a 60 roll, but you won't lose the entire gear unless you're making a lot of hp.

for 19x12 I'm using 345 on my Z06 NT05R and it's hook good enough, another solution is M/T 325/50 15 Bada$# look and amazing hook

Huge difference between a 15" and 19" but cost is also huge. One is $600 and the other is $3k+

Friend went 10.8s on nt05r so they can hook at the track but they still blow off 1st and part of 2nd on the street. They are the best option for a stock rim, but if you really want to hook, don't fool yourself and look at a smaller wheel.
