No you will have to fabricate your own brackets. The only thing my vent came with was the studs I had to get the nuts from the hardware store.

Default Vent

Ive been following this great post. But since i have an eforce SCharger i noticed it was going to be difficult to install the camaro hood vent bc of its depth into the engine. So i decided to design and make my own vent. It resembles the camaro profile but with a flat design to seat flush on the hood without going into engine bay so as to not hit the eforce cover. Here a few pics of the prototype. Thx OP for the inspiration. More to come

I did mine a while ago. The ZL1 vent fits pretty good on the C5 as well but not perfectly like the C6.

I compete in Hot Rod Drag Week so I wanted every bit of cooling advantage as possible as our street drives are generally 6+ hours long of mostly back roads and some highway too. Having competed in with the same car in the same general region of the country at the same time frame I can give an honest apples to apples account as to how well this mod works.

On average, with the car moving at a decent speed, 30-40mph this mod dropped my underhood temps roughly 10 degrees over last year. The car never had a cooling issue to begin with, but like I said, drag week is a hell of a test for any car so the cooler the better.

The car averaged in the 187-194 range during the heat of the day, with two people in it and towing a harbor freight trailer weighing about 350lbs. During the night time drives this thing struggled to reach 184.

For the $150 this mod costs....you can't find a better bang for your buck.

Has everyone cut the hood liner too? Or just left the hood without it? Any cons? I'm running mine without the hood liner

Does anyone know if this will clear a Dart 427 with a LME intake?

Said differently, anyone within striking distance to East Coast Supercharging that would permit me to test fit their hood on my car? I'm trying to keep the car as low key as possible. The WC hood would be a dead giveaway.

This is on my watch/to do list in the future for my C5. When you say it fits good, but not as great as the c6. Can you elaborate? is it not flush?

There are slight gaps at the very center of the leading edge and trailing edge of the insert as a result of the contours of the C5 hood. I spent some time with different placements to minimize this but they are still there. Perhaps another 1/2 inch closer to the front edge of the hood might negate the leading edge gap.

Does it look bad, no...if you're the one who installed it, you'll know its there.

I picked them up from tracspec motorsports. They only make one kind for the C6.

i used stainless steel plate and mesh..both cut in a waterjet table...i warapped the plate with carbon fiber vinyl and eft the mesh mill finish..i then rivetted all together.
i also have a magnetized sheet that fits on top and covers the opng during rainy days..chk my OP at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...om-hood-2.html

i made individual plates for each opng but they didnt hold the water out as well as the sheet
