It is notchier. Honestly I like the t56 more from a shifting stand point. Pretty sure reverse solenoid is working, just takes more effort.

50 miles on it now. Drove it to work, and to lunch, and around town.

interesting. that's good feedback. the built t56 in my car is not quite as smooth or fast as the stock tr6060 with stock clutch in my buddies 600whp 2008 vette but I also just found out my mcleod twin disc clutch was on its last legs.

even though my built t56 has like 2k or 3k miles on it tops i did notice improvement in shift feel when i put new amsoil in it too so not sure if you put new fluid in it during the swap but maybe worth a try if the notchiness bugs you

Yes it has new fluid in it.

Honestly there is very little difference between harder to hit 5/6/reverse. If someone had a t56, I wouldn't go out of my way or spend $3k+ like I did to swap. Nothing wrong with a t56.

I noticed a huge improvement between my 05 t56 vs the tr6060 I swapped in from an 08z06. Could be my t56 was just messed up but at the time the car was stock with only 50k miles on it.

Sure a broken old t56 compared to a new 6060 makes sense. If anything the 6060 shifts worse until warm.

Maybe I worded that wrong. There was nothing wrong with the t56 that I knew of. I swapped because I got a really good deal on a z06 drivetrain.
My tr6060 was a lot smoother than my t56, but you are correct on it getting smoother once warmed up.

Strange. I wonder what if anything can change. Fresh fluid? Changed fluid? Building it? Mine is a built up 6060 from RKT, triple carbon syncros and all that, so maybe that makes it notchier.

I did amsoil when I put it in. Mine is completely stock so that could be it.

Same shifter?? Or z06 shifter??

I've noticed a bigger difference swapping shifters than I have swapping transmissions.

Same shifter. MGW. It is notchy no matter what. Thinking of putting stock back on or trying the new hinson one out.

I've had 3 t56s cars and 2 6060 cars.

T56 in my 06z06 was the smoothest of the all.

But it's also the only one I've actually broken. Even though it did last over 100k miles..

Tr6060s just seem a bit notchier and if you drive them hard seem to round off the synchros pretty quickly, as I believe they are smaller in size.

I've had one that went from brand new to needing fresh synchros in about 18k miles..

maybe could use an adjustable clutch master cylinder to get a touch more extension? no idea if that over extends the mantic clutches but my buddies stock 08 tr6060 is pretty dang smooth.

i have the MGW shifter as well, while it's a work of machined art, it did not improve the shift speed or quality nearly as much as i had hoped. i'm also considering putting stock z06 back in there

Same shifter. I was thinking about trying the Hinson as well. I've never been a fan of aftermarket shifters though. If you get one post up your thoughts on it. It'll be nice hearing real world results from someone that's tried stock and mgw.

After driving it a week, I'll 100% say the t56 drove/shifted better. This is super notchy and even grinds a little until it warms up.

It isn't bad, just my OEM tranny was better. Ohh well.

Spent all day tuning and running errands. AFR still just peg 10.0 on gauge but feeling better and better. Zero issues. Swapped tranny fluid, aligned the front end, and retightened exhaust/etc..
