should be very accurate but timing will be a function of RPM and throttle and a few other variables so I think I see some pretty high timing at lower RPM and certain situations
Sounds normal. It's read straight from the ECM. No calculating or estimating--it is accurate.
It's always funny when people talk about timing tables like it's this one value.. it's actually over 1000 cells. It varies considerably based on engine airflow/RPM. Less fuel = slower explosion = mixture has to be ignited earlier to get peak cylinder pressure at the right time.
Here's a stock LS7 timing table for comparisons sake. Idle timing is defined separately and 19* is not unusual (forget anything you know about older engines.. the idle strategy is different on LS2 and newer engines)
