Gotta' ask...
Is it "smog" OK, in CA? I'm an old dude, had my smog license back in the day, and remember the PCV system used to be (not sure about today) an emissions device...
Also; is a catch can more useful/desired on a FI car?
TIA

Yeah not carb legal, when its inspection time it goes back to the a&a routing.
Oil vapors venting out into the atmosphere is not compliant in CA. On my A&A CA carb certified kit, the vapor line from the oil cap goes to the base of the air filter, so at WOT the vapors are drawn back into the engine with the aid of the blower. This works well scavenging vapors out of the crankcase at WOT. Like Unreal said "proper venting is important on any car. More so as horsepower goes up."
It will depend on the CA smog technician on whether he passes it. Some are emission ****'s
Yeah, just switch it back at emissions time.
