Default Warm Weather cooling

What are you all doing in the southern states for cooling on your forced induction cars? I just purchased a TT 427 car and it runs around 200 when moving but as soon as slow down or get stuck in traffic the temp goes up pretty quick. Its running a Dewitts radiator and the dual spal fans. I want to switch to the single brushless but they are out of stock until July. What water pump and thermostats are you running?

160 thermostat

if you can put an eletric waterpump im sure your temps will go down

also add a oil cooler for the engine and that will bring temps down aswell

does are the only things i can see that could help u out big time

Work on shrouding.

The d3 dual PWM fan if you have a full size radiator works better than the single 17" so that is a great option.

What makes you say the dual setup from D3 is better than the single brushless from Dewitts?

Messed with both. The dual PWM d3 setup moves a bit more air than the 17", but it doesn't fit cutdown radiators, so I run the 17". With a TT setup I don't see why you would have a cut down radiator, so the d3 setup is the top choice.

What kind of mods did you have to do to make the d3 setup fit a dewitts radiator?

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c6-forced-induction-nitrous/3799047-need-help-on-engine-temps-1k-hp-guys-please-help.html

I will update it this week. Since my changes I have not seen above 196 degrees with warmer outside temps then last month when I was regularly seeing 230+. Lots of time and work but it worked and I don't hate the car as much anymore lol

Realcanuck mentioned it in that thread in the above link and I will echo it. An air gap between the rad/condenser and the intercooler help out a lot.

Removing that weather strip where the hood closes by the windshield made mine drop by 15*. I thought it was a joke until I tried it.

Okay, you have to elaborate. My car is a daily driver and I drive in the rain. Would it be safe to remove this strip? Yesterday, temp outside was 94. Just driving my temps went up to 240. When I hit bumper to bumper traffic, I had to turn off AC. That took me back to 230.

Yes it's basically just a cushion/seal for where your hood eats your cowling cover when it's closed. I thought it was a joke until I tried it.

Won't hurt anything. You can spray the whole engine down with a water hose and everything will still be fine. Electrical connectors are sealed pretty well these days

I set up a sprinkler system in my engine bay, it kicks on after 190*.

I went one step further and just removed the hood completely. The rain keeps my engine really cool. This combination has proven to work exceptionally well
