I'm wondering if there is a commercially available gizmo that will allow me to mount a boost gauge and read the boost from the MAP, via the dataport, rather than plumbing.

Asking in the C5 second didn't help. People get tunnel vision. Like suggesting the Dashlogic product here, C5 people say 'you can't ready MAP from the LS1."
If you're ok using your phone then a cheapo elm327 interface off amazon and an app like dash command would work also and be cheaper. I'm not sure what differences there are though.
