Default ls2...replace pump or add external?

After talking to the shop it looks like it will be about the same price to do either. So which is the better option for a centrifugal 700rwhp setup? The ecs stage 1 or replace the in tank with a better pump?

if was me I'd do the ECS stage 1 because it's easier to install then dropping the tank and fishing around in there, and I like driving around on OEM quiet and reliable stuff when not in boost

The only thing I would add would be a Racetronix harness for the stock pump.

I'm just gonna go ahead and do the ecs stage 1. There's no e85 around here so no need for anything more. Thanks fellas. Are there any real differences between id1000 and 1050's for my application?

get the bigger ones if it's not much price difference.

Also just get a BAP. I made 700 on a KB bap and stock pump. If you really wanna get a secondary pump you can build your own for cheap.

ID1000s are not even made anymore, and are a different generation of injector. The 1050x are a ground up motorsport design. A lot of advantages to them over the 1000s.

If you can get 1000s cheap, that is one thing, but if the price is within $100 I would definately do the 1050x.

I think some websites just aren't updated to 1050's yet. If they are close to the 1000 in price I'll grab them. Honestly 850's would probably be fine. My brother makes 750 with them thru a 4l80. But if they are close in price may as well do 1050's.

You can also get a set of Ford 80lb and other injectors for cheaper than ID's. I've had FIC and ID's in multiple cars. Sure, ID's are the premium but if it's going on a stock block, lower hp car on regular pump gas, I wouldn't spend the money.

My tuner said he would prefer ID's for low speed drive ability. Power wise I don't think it would make a huge difference.

Yep, that's what 95% of tuners will tell you so they don't have to put in the time tuning drivability. Competent tuners... it won't make a difference to on a basic low hp build.

Does anyone else think just a bap and stock pump would be enough to get to 675rwhp or so? From my research it seems that may not be enough. It will have pure meth.

With meth should be OK. I make 651rw with just a bap and no meth.

With meth, yes. Made 700 with a bap and meth. But just because you can doesn't make it a good idea. I'd get the ECS stage 1 kit.

Default 2005 ls2 mn6 z51 A&A

I did DIY dual in-tank 340s...

I bought most all my fuel system from Racetronix... They rate this setup as good to 1100hp on boost, 1400 naturally aspirated...

Dual 340 pumps, -8an Teflon feed, -6an Teflon return, 3/4" fuel rails, E85 regulator, their dual pump wiring kit with hobbs switch for 2nd pump, and a bunch of fittings...

Also installed dedicated motorsports flex fuel sensor...

Running 127lb(1300cc) injectors... last dyno was 722rwhp @ 9 psi and E57

This was very D.I.Y... You have to modify the factory plastic hanger a bit... Racetronix doesn't send any instructions or pictures... Some cussing involved, but definitely a lot cheaper then most other options out there... Dropping C6 fuel tanks is the biggest p.i.t.a. thing to do on these cars and I hope its a lot of years before I have to do it again...

In you guys opinion how should I be tuning this car? SD or with the maf? I've heard the 6l80 needs the maf but then I've heard thats not true.

I'm running mine in MAF only. I've read and heard several notable tuners say now that the TCM needs to reference the MAF to operate the transmission properly, so I'm leaving it that way. I believe that the vast majority's of 6L80s that have been destroyed were tuned incorrectly. I've also noticed that often times the guys who opine that these transmissons are junk are the same folks that prefer to tune in SD. Go figure.
PM someone like realcanuk or subfloor on here and ask them for their opinion and see what they say.

I also was told that it's better for the trans to keep the MAF in the picture although some tuners say that's not the case.

Ran in MAF only for the last 5 years with no issues. Only this year I am trying a blended tune which in my opinion is probably best since it's what the system was made for. I don't see any reason to run SD only.
