Drive to the track? Swap tires at track? 1/4 mile or 1/8?

Personally I wouldn't touch either one of those tires for a 600rwhp setup.

I would run the hoosiers, or ET Rs, and swap them at the track. I would only consider the SS if it is going to be a tire that sees street use, and rare track use.

You can drive to the track on these..... http://www.jegs.com/i/Hoosier/522/17330/10002/-1

I would give up width to have a taller sidewall. So while the 275's aren't ideal.... the sidewall height will help.

I plan on a set of welds in the future. I just want to race again before the track closes, and these are local options I can have on the car in a week. Right now I'm on Bridgestone Protenza's it was like driving in the snow. :*(

Not sure I'd want to do the 2.5 hr drive to the track in those though

Unless you just have money to burn, I wouldn't make a bad choice just based on timing.

If you have money to burn, buy either, race a day or two on them, then do some sweet burn outs and buy some new tires before next year.

I just picked up a set of ET Streets mounted on C6z06 replica wheels 17X9.5 with 275/40/17 et streets for $200. They were only used once and he broke a half shaft date code is 1614, so 3 year old tires.

Other option was to just change out my street tires to the new ET street SS's in stock size
