No Manley rods. I need a 4.075 bore and Manley is the only one with that on the shelf.but don't see many people run them

I'm no expert but I did just recently shop many of the prominent vendors on this site for a shortblock. I think all of them quoted Wiseco.

I’ve always ran custom diamond pistons and like them. Can’t speak for any other brand.

The size I need would have to be custom.i feel like 1k+ pistons in a aluminum block is over kill when the rods didn't cost that much?

Wiseco cuts performance shops some of the best deals so I wouldn't put a lot of emphasis on that being the reason to go that direction. They actually tend to be very heavy compared to the majority of other piston manufacturers (JE, Diamond, Mahle, Manley, etc). Currently Mahle makes the most sophisticated piston but they are pretty limited on bore dimensions and pin height.....So I'd probably go Diamond and have a top notch piston that will suit just about anything the block/rods can handle.
