someone just posted a flip drive setup. Should i buy this since my balancer is 6 rib? I am not trying to drop another $1200-1400 on the car right now. I am open to other affordable solutions though.

I have an 8 rib overdrive lower, an 8 rib 3.47 blower pulley, and direct drive setup that I will sell you. All you would need is a crank pin kit from Innovators West and new belts.

Car made 725 on 13-14psi and 11* with 76% ethanol and no filter spun to 6500rpm. It’s still on the rich side but I don’t see how guys are making 830+ with this blower and pulley combo. More to come next week.

the belt was definitely loose.

I have a friend doing it. We are trying to be meticulous about it. Ve table is within 1%. We have access to a dyno so time is no issue.
I forgot to mention this is static 40% load for the pull which lasts about 4 secs.

Any input guys? Does 725 sound right for a 8”/3.48” pulley combo on a ls7? Or do you think I’m still getting belt slip?
We put an optical sensor on the blower pulley to confirm it was slipping originally but it picked up 4psi after tightening the belt some. I can tighten more maybe but I don’t want to break a belt or water pump. The rpm graph of blower pulley no longer backs up but peak is still around 6200rpm.
Before I waste my money on a new belt just to find out that the car doesn’t make anymore power with this pulley ratio should I just get a direct drive with 3.33 pulley?

Is the spring loaded tensioner maxed out?

It is around 1:00 as viewed from the front. If I go tighter it will go towards 12:00. Should I continue to tighten?

Yes, sounds like belt slip. I’m making 837whp on an LS7 with a Ti trim with 3.47 and stock size balancer. That’s on 93 and meth. I also have 8 rib and secondary drive. You’ll be overspinning it with a 8” crank and 3.33.

Patriot six-
thanks for the input. I was hoping to hear from you since we have similar setups. I have a few questions for you:
1. What kind of dyno did you make the 837 on?
2. Do you know what your timing, EQ ratio and other tuning parameters are?
3. What were your iat numbers on the dyno?
4. How much boost are you running? Cylinder air mass would be good too.
5. Is your engine stock? If not, what compression ratio.

if it’s easier just give me a call when you get a chance.

thanks
Matt

You want the spring loaded tensioner maxed out. It needs all the movement it can get to take up the belt stretching under heavy load.

I don’t go past that but yeah, should be fine to max it out

We will tighten the belt some more. I also ordered the k060900RPM belt.

My car is very similar to Patriot six (he has 10:1, 93/meth, 7.5"/3.47", 13-14psi (i know this means very little), 14* timing, and was on a dynojet).

I have 9.6:1, E85, 8"/3.48", 14psi, 11* timing(needs more) on a dynocom.

We noticed IAT went up 40* from 6100 to 6500rpm. I think this tells me that we are past the superchargers efficiency but i haven't been able to compare this with anyone else's.

If i use the V1 (same as Novi1500SL???) calculator on Vortech's website it shows me at 50000 at 6300rpm and 52000 at 6550rpm. Patriot six is 52000 at 7000rpm and he told me the dyno graph pulls all the way to 7000 like it should.

I hope no one thinks i am chasing a number. I am just trying to ensure my setup is running at full potential

I also finished up the flex sensor install (minus wiring) under the factory engine cover. The return line will follow the feed line out of the cover and down to the rocker panel.

Hey how is everything working for you? Getting ready to throw mine in and might try to do something similar.

Ah man that’s a bummer, I kinda of did a setup like yours and I’m praying that it works lmao. Dropping those tanks is a pain in the ***.... Luckily I was doing a clutch at the same time so it wasn’t TOO bad.

Make sure you double check all connections before reinstalling and test the system before you put the trans back in. Do not use a check valve. call me if you have any issues 248-410-4438

Update:
I have been driving the car now that my ankle has healed some. The fuel system is performing well. I finally got around to cleaning up the underhood and re-installing the factory engine covers. My goal for this car is to make it look like nothing more than a bolt on blower setup. In reality its a forged 427 with enough fuel to support some serious power. Eventually I will go to a YSI but for now i am going to enjoy the current power level ~740rwhp @13 degrees of timing on e85. We didn't push it any further because IAT's were climbing to 160*F. I think it's time for a meth setup but my wallet needs to recover after this ankle surgery.

Here are some pics of the finished product. Remember I am running a return fuel system with regulator mounted to the schrader valve on the factory rails. -8an ptfe feed line and -6an ptfe return line. Bosch 210 injectors around 60% duty cycle on e85. I also modified the MM catch can setup to fit under the factory cover. -10an 90* fitting installed in factory oil fill cap. I also went with the RPM belt and we now have zero belt slip with 10% overdrive and 3.48" 6 rib setup.

Glad it’s up and running. I would definitely get meth. At a roll racing event last weekend my IATs started at 120 and were around 90 at the end of 160+ mph runs in 90 deg weather.

What’s the preferred method of running an external FPR maintaining stock fuel rails?
