Default High Intake Air Temps

Trying to figure out a solution to my intake air temps. Im not sure if this is common or not but I feel like they are excessively high. At the end of a full 1/4 mile pull they are are 210+ with a starting ambient temp of 65. Its an LS2 car that I have an LS3 maf/iat in. I've rescaled this parameter in hp tuners just at of curiosity (used both stock ls2 and stock ls3) they read different temps but both are still hot after a pull. I had a custom intercooler built but nothing seems to help. I understand meth is an option but its not my first choice.

ECS Novi 2200r 8.25 lower, 3" upper
There is a z06 with the same combo (he has a 427 lsx stock ls7 heads, I am 402 ls3 heads) and the stock ecs intercooler and this weekend we trapped the same in the 1/8th but he has 7 MPH on me through the 1/4. Blower is 2 years old with roughly 5k miles, but has always been hot. Coolant temps between 180-190 while driving, so air flow is there.

Our intercooler flows very well but I'm surprised the larger one didn't help any. Those temps on a 2200r are about right though which is why even with E85 we still spray a little meth to cool IAT's.

Best answer is an air to water, but that's not very street friendly.

Just wanted to update this thread, I ended going air to water using a frozen boost intercooler rated for 2000hp, it was a tight fit but we made it work. I already had a dewitts shortened radiator but we cut down the end tanks and added AN fittings for the inlet and outlet and leaned it forward similar to a c7 setup. I will update with results.

a2w is the way to go but a frozen boost is junk. a single garret 1k core is way more efficient than that, but it's at least a step in the right direction.

i have multiple friends running their cores with great results. They are a local company so it was easy for me to look at their products and core options. Guess we will see.

Looks good, I have a feeling I may have to switch to a2w since my turbos are mounted next to the oil pan. Any idea what pump you will be running? what size an line, just going to run a tank in the trunk?

Just an update ran at the 1/2 mile event in Colorado Springs this weekend. IATs started at 88 and I finished at 122, with a best pass of 175mph.

I've seen people commenting about street "friendliness" of the A2W setups. Do you have to run ice to get a benefit over a large A2A? I like the idea of A2W, but not sure how hard it will be to wedge it in there and I want to not think twice about driving my car for an hour or 3 to the beach or other car events. Looks great man!

while I don’t have any long drives in the car it’s no different then a roots or twin screw car, I don’t have a heat exchanger but it could easily be added. On short drives I don’t even turn on my pump.

From what I've read on meth systems, it's not advised to put meth pre-impeller as the droplets can damage the impeller at that RPM.
