I pulled a little of the 50/50 and went back with more water, about 16oz worth. Ran with no AC for an hour and temps stayed under 220. It was hot prob pushing 90 degrees. I did hit 225 when giving it some throttle but temps actually went down when normal driving. That’s something I haven’t seen before. Usually once it hits 225-230 it would stay there. I don’t drive much and usually only in 20-30 min trips. When I got back home I did have another tiny orange(ish) dot on the bottom left corner of the radiator. So I’m assuming I have a small fracture. Gonna have it tested and welded if it needs also gonna throw the 160 thermostat on, fans are already programmed to come on early. I’m just wanting to know if the prospeed is actually worth double the price of the Dewitt duel spal I guess. Thanks man keep me posted.

Dual spals cool worse than stock.
The only decent options are Prospeed, Spal PWM Nuova fan, or Dual PWM spals in a custom setup.
The Nuova fan is ~$750ish, prospeed more, dual PWM is $1300+.

Well ****. Thanks for the information though. Looks like I have 3 options. 3 expensive options......

Glad I read this, as I was looking at the dual spals. Dang those are some expensive fan options!

It’s why I made the thread, I knew someone on here was probably running these or knew what the best options were, and at almost 1k for some fan(s) I wanted to make sure it would be worth it.

Corvettes suck at cooling and corvette cooling mods are pricey. Takes high end parts to keep them cool. I easily have $3k+ into my cooling setup. If you do a blower, and liver somewhere hot, spending at least $2k-2500 should be expected.

i live in south lousiana lsx/ysi combo stupid high humidity and run a stock (lowered) z06 radiator and prospeed fans. It has drastically improved my cooling. Before i could not stay idle in traffic long and hard pulls took even longer to cool down. lately only been 90-92 but still no issues running at 215-220 after some pulls 205-210 crusing. before it would be 240+ after a hit
also run 70water/30% coolant with watter wetter not sure if that really does anything tough

Interested in results. I have the ecs 1500 kit with the stock radiator and fan. 540 rwhp, so just mild boost. Already toasted the connector. Read lots of threads too. Really curious if this kit is enough to allow me to dd the car. I'm ok when moving but traffic is a killer. Thanks to all who have put in the money and effort on this topic.

Prospeed dual spal went on last night, AC on driving on the interstate temps never went over 205 and settled in a 198, AC on driving around town coming off the interstate so car was heated up, temps stayed around 205-207, we’ll see today how it does in 90+ and traffic. Very satisfied so far.

Full size DeWitts. Was going to do just the fans first as well but decided on everything all at once to take full advantage of cooling it down.

Full size is the way to go.

Car was down all summer and into fall, finished the rebuild a few months ago and haven’t seen temps over 198 degrees. That being said I already had a short cut so I needed to keep it, if your buying it new go full sized and get the Prospeed unit. If you already have the short cut like I did the Prospeed set up is still the way to go in my opinion.
