Default Input on Taking the Next Step Please - to e85 plus more

I’m thinking about taking the next step - to E85 with some additional mods.
Goal is:
1. reliability
2. not scattering my SBE
3. 650< rwhp.
Budget $12k, with $10k+ in reserve to rebuild forged if she blows...Current set up: 2012 C6 GS M6, 16k miles, Magnuson Heartbeat w/90mm (8.4 lbs), stock HB, Full ZR1 exhaust & catless X-Pipe, 3” Corsa axle backs, Racetronix harness & KB BAP, Z06 pump, 160* T-Stat, DeWitts. 537rwhp/Tq. 483. Rears are 19” Toyo R888’s.

Is Parts list & pricing below even close?

Questions:Granted a super crappy ROI, is head work such as shaving & porting even worth a look?

I’d really like a reason to install the CNC ported heads…perhaps even massaged? I know…

ARP head studs?
Oil pump upgrade?

All input greatly appreciated…

TIA!
ETA; I'll run a pair of gutted exhaust manifolds & off road x-pipe...all 3" ZR1 gear

No one, nada, no mas?
Would ID1050's be enough?
Can that combo make my HP goal of 650+?

If you buy retail yes. No one should ever do that as many people deal them. I got mine for way under that. Like way under.

1300s are way overkill, you can get 1050x or even just 1000cc for a couple hundred. Nothing else really sticks out much I agree with the drivetrain stuff I need to get a brace on mine before I do something it doesn't like.

Attaboy, Mitch!
Since you’re going to have access to the rear of the block, I would add one of these to the list:
http://www.saccitycorvette.com/Billet-BarBell.html
And maybe get yourself one of their align-it tools at the same time?

Interesting, I remember those now. I recognize the shop and the person in the video. Sacramento is only 1 hour away, I'll have to check them out.

Will I need to have the pan off for my mods? Wondering if I should get the oil pick up tube bolt hold down, also...?

The bar bell goes into the back of the block on the left side, and inserts into the orifice right above the filter. So when you pull the bellhousing for the clutch, you should be able to get to it.
I don’t think that the oil pump pickup tube hold-down will work on your car, since you have the dry sump setup like the Z cars.

Is there any harm in running tank fulls of California 91 octane when on a flex fuel set up (if I can't get e85?)?
I realize it will utilize a timing table & AFR reflective of that fuel (the % ethanol).

Any input on making my goal of 650+?

You aren't getting ID's for a couple hundred. He has to mean another brand of 1000cc injectors.

Another option would be to go with:
$300 ECS Flex Fuel Kit
$1300 ECS Stage 1 e85 Fuel System
$155 3.3" Pulley
$2100 Mantic 9000
$800 ID1050x Injectors
$500 Misc
$2500 Labor
$000 Gutted Cats
$800 Tune
$8,500

Any guesses on RWHP?

Can a flex fuel car run 91 octane for several tankfuls if eXX is not available?

IMO, turn timing down, richen it up and I wouldn't do crazy 1/2 mile+ pulls or anything on crappy gas. But running 91 isn't going to hurt anything in and of itself if it's tuned correctly, I don't believe anyways with reasonable amounts of boost (i.e. not 20+psi where turning timing down is still going to be too much cylinder pressure for 91).

I'd still take it easy while on 91 though just to be safe if possible

I'll take a dozen sets of those please.

FWIW, my guess would be you’ll make around 540-550 whp on 91 and 560+ on E85.
I’m basing this on what Andy was making with the 81mm upper and 91+meth (565, iirc). You’ll be running a little less boost than he was, but the E85 should allow you to make more power than 91/meth.
