What’s your rev limiter? Shifting at 6K is low.

I had Hoosier DRs on my drag pack with skinnies first time I did one of these and the second time I took my street 19” wheels and put 325/30 mickeys on it. That 27” drag radial was super stable and worked well.

Height of tire is all about gearing really. I ran a 26” hoosier for drags because I have 2.56 gears. I ran a 27 drag radial on my other wheels for half mile so it would pick up a bit of mph.
I’ve only done two of these events but I’ll tell you right now I would rather have solid traction than be on a street tire trying to make it hook up past 130. For my car, that meant I had to be on a drag radial. Another mod that was a really nice improvement in all forms of racing were the solid metal rear bushings from LG.

I went 163 with a bit of head wind and a lot of sand on the air strip when I was at that power level.

You could do more than that...I wasn’t taking off until third at full throttle. I rolled out about 2/3 throttle until the 2/3 shift

Just be ready to simply have fun and enjoy the car. Pockets run really deep. You’ll see plenty of folks faster than you. You also won’t be the slowest by far.

Just curious how many of you guys are relatively local? I’m about 45 min to hour from NOLA. Who’s making the longest trip?

I used to live there but moved away two years ago. I’m coming down from Michigan.

The car has been down there since July getting a few tweaks and it’s going to my friends shop for ppf and ceramic coating on the parts I recently had painted. I fly in on the 20th.
