Do I run the risk or damaging my electronics if I run a 200 or 220amp high output alternator on my z06? I have aftermarket fans, fuel pumps with bap and a sound system.
Agree with all of the above. Talk to Bret aka “Blownbluez06” on here. You might not even need anything more than one of the 170amp Mechman alternators that he sells, along with the heavy gauge charge wire, which you can get from Bret as well. He’s a super guy to deal with and you won’t get a better deal anywhere that I could find. Just got back from vacation last night to find one of his beautiful black anodized 170amps sitting in my garage. Can’t wait to bolt that on.

Do you have any pictures of that heavy gauge charge wire?
I have a 240 amp mechman...with that said I run a larger cable from front to the rear...and from the alternator to the fuse box...no problems...Bret is the man!!
Remember larger cable...less resistance

Running a higher output alternator isn't the same as running a larger supercharger on a car because the alternator is a device that offers the current but doesn't force it. Current flow is a result of demand. If there's no demand, there is no current flow. If there is max current demand, there will be max current flow until the demand exceeds the ability at which point the voltage will begin to diminish.
I am going to replace everything with 1/0 awg wire
Should I remove the stock alternator to starter charge wire? not sure if it branches off to other components.
I am going to run a charge wire from the alternator directly to the fuse box. Should I use one of the agm heavy duty fuses?
No need to. I didn’t bother, just because I was too lazy to put the car on the lift and pull the starter out. I have the new 1/0 wag wire, the stock alt to starter wire, the ECS aux fuel pump wire and the Racetronix FP harness all stacked on the lug on the new alternator (photo below). I just need to get a better rubber boot to cover the ring terminals better. My car is now showing the same voltage ( 14.7) at the battery - the the rear cubby - as it does on the alternator lug with the car idling.
