Finally got my ysi ordered. My current set up is a forged 427, heads, cam, Ttrim blower, 3.1 pulley, 8” overdrive, 8 rib set up. I hit 780 on e85. My goal is 900+ with the ysi, my question is, what is the smallest sized pulley I can put on without belt slip or going flip drive or 10 rib. Should I stick with the 3.1 or could I do a 2.9 or smaller? Thanks!
YSI is a lot harder to spin than a t-trim, so I wouldn't be surprised if a 3.1 slips on just an 8 rib. I know I had issues in the 3.15 range with just 8 rib.

If I had a 3.1 on the car now I would just do a 2.75 & overspin that puppy & really get the HP out of it. The YSI loves the 2.75 pulley on it but like you have said I would look at the 10 rib r the flip drive. On my c5 with the YSI on it I did the flip drive & it didn't slip at all. I also had a forged 402 motor & it made 1173 rwhp & that was with a auto trans & also on a mustang dyno. The YSI loves the 2.75 pulley man...
A&A is WORLDs better for the flip drive. I've ran just about every setup. If you are going that far, might as well just do the 10 rib with flip. Cost difference is basically nothing at that point.
I'm running a gates HD green belt. Hasn't given me any issues at all. When it needs a change I may try an RPM belt. They were not out yet when I did my build.
