Default BOV help

Forum is cool, just purchased my first centrifugal supercharger 8 rib d1sc I’m needing some help on the bov. Yes I’m a ricer in a good way I want the biggest blow off valve I can get without effecting performance I don’t think it will since it dumps the air out when not in boost. I’m also not looking to spend 500 on a BOV on my kit can I install any BOV or does it have to be a Procharger bov my pulley combo would be 3.85/8.125 max rpm of 62k

can I add the BOV after the tune?

Definitely add the new BOV before the tune! Tial Q 50mm open to atmosphere is a good choice and a reasonable price. Don’t get some eBay bullshit. Tial Q is around $250, you won’t be able to install yourself unless you can weld and have the equipment though.

It’s gonna give you what your looking for😉 I get it bro...

I like it, in being told you can add the BOV after a tune that it won’t affect it from a and a corvette

Sure you can, I’d rather do it before personally. Are you doing the work yourself? Also make sure you get the supercharger light spring, Tial Q 50mm will have a drop down box for spring weight. If you want it “obnoxiously loud” and by that I mean awesome get the open to atmosphere version.

Yeah that’s it man, location of where you install the BOV can make it louder, also removing any rubber hoses on the system and going back with aluminum piping seemed to make mine louder. Again I have no issue with how loud the Tial Q is, I actually searched for the most obnoxious BOV possible lol

DO you know if it’s fine if I replace where the BOV is now with some piping and add the BOV on the intake pipe that’s going to the throttle body? To make it louder and release air in the top side of the engine maybe even helping with the hot air being pushed out

Ideally, you want the BOV pre-intercooler to keep from unnecessarily cooling hot air that will not be forced into the motor. Also, I’m not sure that would have any effect on blowing hot air out of the engine bay. BOV can be plenty loud in the fenderwell or near the intercooler.

What Patriotsix is saying is the way you should go man, I wanted to put mine on the intake pipe like your talking about and lucky me my new shop is a good one, they told me why that’s not ideal and where they were gonna put it, a good shop will tell you **** like this instead of taking your money and doing **** they know isn’t the best for your set up.
