but why so many waffling opinions for the "simple" questions I have?
because the question are trivial and either one is a good way to go, no offense. Either use the cats or don't, both have been given reasons for.Originally Posted by ttboyvette

Jet hot basically only makes the headers look better, doesn't do anything functionally. Swaintech coating would help heat but again ts just a trivial amount of gains, so why care about it? If you want to mitigate heat, wrap the headers well in DEI heat wrap before putting them in.
Do you have an intake on the car? if not then why not send the catted midpipe back for a cheaper non catted one and use the difference to buy an intake?

I advocate keeping the cats as they also help to mitigate drone in the exhaust.Originally Posted by VVVROOMTX

This past weekend, I took out my headers and wrapped them in DEI Titanium heat wrap. Definitely helps with the underhood temps. It is a lot of work but I think it is definitely better than a cermic coating.

If you are worried about drone just get resonators and still keep the loudness of the exhuast. Cats imo just make it kinda muffledOriginally Posted by Spaceme1117
