I have an Edelbrock E-force on my 2011 Grand Sport. Will eventually get a blower cam to go with it but I will also need to get bigger injectors when I do.
I see that Tick has both 65 lb and 85 lb per hour FAST injectors on sale. I think the 65 lb injectors would be plenty but would the 85 lb injectors be more future proof in case I decide on further mods down the road for more power? Or would these be too big?
DSX flex fuel kit. FID1000 injectors is something else to consider. I needed more pump with e-85 so I went with DSX ZR-1 kit and had it turned down and bought a ZR-1 sensor. It turns on and off with boost not a Hobb switch. My tuner has had multiple Hobb switches fail on the Dyno so we went that route. Good luck
I think I want to stay away from e85. The availability in my area is rather slim. Also, I have in my mind a goal of around 600 whp so I don't think e85 would be necessary.
I am going to go with the 85 lb/hour injectors. Should be plenty of fuel flow for my goals.
Another question: The tuner is about a 2 hour drive from me. Would I be able to change out the injectors and then drive to the tuner? I assume that the injectors would be spraying more fuel because of the larger flow rate. If that is the case, then other than running rich would there be any danger to driving the car without adjusting for the larger injectors?
I would go with another brand injector personally. Lots of people have issues with FAST injectors, I have personally experienced problems on my own car along with others that I work on in the past. ID/FIConnection/FID are a few I would look at well before FAST.
Also I would recommend just changing the injectors in the parking lot at the tuner or changing them and towing the car there.
