If you were to build a 6.5k long block for 800whp can you do that? Semi reliable what would be the best Gen 4 iron block throw in your own piston and rods with lsa heads what do you guys think? What would you do

I’d use a LS3 block personally.

You think you can build a ls3 to hold 800whp semi reliable for that price?

I'm still SBE LS3 and make 800+ RWHP.

So I'm probably close to 1000 crank. Really no need to build it but honestly if you want to have piece of mind and ability to really turn it up in the future you can put a decently cheap rod and piston in it and then the sky is the limit

I like the idea of the ls3 getting a used block and throw in a stock crank rods and piston or after market crank I wouldn’t be past 850whp for a while wondering if I’d get away with sbe on 91 and meth later I’d like to build a 440 Boosted motor and push it up to 1200whp

Stock block 5.3l Gen 4. Pistons, rods, stock crank and a set of as cast TFS 220 heads. Roughly $6500. Capable of 1500hp... <- This is what I am building for my TT setup.

I'm doing an aluminum block. It's an LC9. Got it used and using Callies Compstar rods and Wiseco pistons from BTR. 1/2" headstuds and still 4 bolt heads. Going to push it to 1300+ WHP.

Doesn’t 1/2 inch head studs cause a problem with the strength of the block or anything?

Nope. Same setup (little stronger rod) is in a 4400lb truck putting down over 1600whp on 42psi.

Won’t the 220 heads be an issue with a 5.3 valves hitting the walls? Thought it needed a 4.0 bore or something
