When I broke my output shaft on the manual it cracked my rear diff so I went to a ZR1 difff. On E85. I fought this thing forever at my local track and could never get better then a 1.52. And that was with a boost controller leaving on 3 lbs of boost. Went to another track and got a 1.41 first pass then added boost a little at a time and got down to a 1.31 there. Makes me think it’s your track not you with your 60. Unless you need more converter. I had a 1.30 right before this pass. I’ve also had a 6.01 @116 and a 9.36 @ 146.87 mph on a 50 hp dry shot. Been trying to join you and get in the 5’s with it. This last trip I went 6.08, 6.05, 6.10 (tried my radials for a pass and went back to the slicks), 6.04 then 6.01. All night the dragy time was slower then the slip except the 6.05 slip pass showed 6.04 on the dragy. The last pass the dragy said 5.95 @ 116. I thought I had it! Nope slip said 6.01. Only the 6.01 pass was with the nitrous.

You been running your Camaro?
My car pretty much dead hooks to the 60’, and it runs very consistently at 1.41 sec to the 60’, so I think I need a converter change. The first 60’ of our track is great, it’s 100’ and beyond that’s really rough. It is a bit lazy off the line and doesn’t really hit the way I think it should. And it’s pretty damn loose on the street too, especially with the 2.73 gearing. My converter is an FTI. I had originally ordered a 3200 stall, but the number on the box when it came translated to a 3600, but I stuck it in anyway, since I couldn’t bother to spend another several hundred dollars shipping it back and forth overseas to change it and now it’s just too much friggin work for me to motivate myself to change it.
Hell, I haven’t driven the car on the road in over a year because the power steering pump shat the bed. I have a new Turn 1 PS pump sitting in the garage but it’s the same kind of effort involved in changing that. Maybe one day if/when I find the time, I’ll just change that out and then change out the converter to something a little tighter and then just use it on the street.
Glad to hear you’ve gotten it running. Sounds like an impressive setup for sure.
BTW: I think the 4l60 with 3.42 gears is the better setup to what I have anyway. I already have the Z06 diff in storage, so if the 6l80 breaks, I might try going that route.
But, I’m focusing on building the Camaro, which I’ve still got a ways to go on, as well as running my outboard drag boat for now. Both are MUCH easier to work on that these damn C6s, lol!

Can’t have too many toys! Keep us updated on the Camaro.

If you’re dead hooking you have you tried bringing a 50 shot in a hundred rpm after wherever the converter flashes to? If it takes it keep working up until it doesn’t. Be easier then a converter change and should get you in the 1.3’s maybe 1.2’s I was going to ask you a few questions in a pm but your box is full.

I’m hitting it with a 100-125 shot and progressing it from 40% to 100% in 2 seconds, any higher percentage setting or more jet and it will break loose.
Sorry man, I haven’t been on here for a while and had even forgotten my password and somehow my iPad had as well.
I’ll try to delete some messages from my inbox. Problem is that most if not all of the PMs that are in there are from other members who I’ve communicated with over the years or have helped me with advice and I’m a little bit reticent to delete them, lol. Maybe I’ll upgrade my membership.
You could always email me though.

That **** happens when you transition into being an old ****. Welcome back Sammy! I know you have many of my communications saved. I've kept you out of lots of troubles over the years.... Realizing you're an old **** is the first step into dealing with being an old ****. Write down your damn passwords!

My problem is I’d forget where I wrote it down at.

Hahahaha! Hey, Rodney. It’s sure good to hear that you’re the same old grumpy motorhead. I do indeed have all of your PMs saved, mostly as a reminder of how expensive it can get when you allow yourself to be badly influenced by a crazy old redneck who believes he needs to supercharge everything he owns…
How’s it going on the farm? What projects do you have now?
FYI: I write all my passwords down. I just keep forgettin where the hell I hid the goddamn notes!

Well, my son is doing the farming. I just look over his shoulder and aggravate the hell out of him. About now, I can tell when I'm helping and when he really doesn't want to hear it.

My heads/cam Vette is boringly reliable. 50K miles on the build with little drama. Working on the wife's SSR right now. Trying to get the top to work properly. It has eight little hydraulic cylinders that have to play nice together. One ******* cylinder in the bunch is giving me trouble. It has an LS2 under the hood with M6 tranny. When I get the top to work properly, it's going to the get the heads/mild cam treatment similar to the Vette....or just maybe a TVS blower under the hood. That Alabama girl I'm married to ain't skeeered of a manual transmission.

She sounds like a keeper. And the fact that she puts up with you makes her a saint. I’m sure she realises that you’re going to put a blower on her SSR too.
I can’t believe that you haven’t put a blower on that Vette yet? After making dozens of guys on here (myself included) buy TVS blowers you go an switch back to N/A? That must be some form of treason!
