Another option would be to get a machine shop cut the 1/2-round drill hole through the full length of the bore of the balancer (like a half-round keyway). That way, you could set the pin on the crank, then slide the balancer on, line it up to engage the pin and then tighten the balancer down from there, just like you would with a key.
