I'm really happy with my Powermaster XS Volt unit. I don't have a Corvette anymore but I believe the one I have would work on most LS vehicles as it fits in the stock lower drivers side bracket/mount. I also went with a 14V XS Power battery when I discovered my fuel pressure issues were due to my battery voltage dropping into the 10's. I have 3 525's, dual electric fans, etc. The 14V upgrade was absolutely amazing too. Very happy I went that route, and honestly kind of wish I had gone 16V. Still an option in the future with just a battery swap though.
Just to update; At ~10k mi. my 170A Mechman started dropping voltage. Would slowly drift to 12.Xv (battery voltage] occasionally - often returning on it's own. If not a restart brings it back up. Ordered me a 270A DCPower...the Mechman will be sent back under warranty. And then up for sale.

A MechMan 270A required modes, so I went with the 170A Mechman. No problems yet (~3k miles).

As much $$$ as these 'premium' aftermarket alternators cost (ie: Mechman, DC Power, etc) ... I think that if the alternator on my C6 ever **** the bed, I would just get a lower priced alternator from Autozone or someplace like that.
They still have a warranty. If the thing don't work right, just go back to the store and get another one on there dime ... not every Autozone or Advance Auto alternator can be bad out of the box.
Oh, and the reason I would look to Autozone or Advance Auto for a replacement alternator is because they are local .... If the alternator don't work right out of the box, I can just bring it back to my local store and exchange it. No need to send it in the mail back to someone like RockAuto and wait a week or more for a replacement.
didn't you have an alternator that literally caught fire on a dyno session? or am i thinking of someone else....
I had an alternator catch and fire on the dyno, maybe that’s what your thinking of? Unreal might have as well though. Mine was this bullshit company called “power bastards” and they were definitely some bastards. 2nd alternator they sent also seized and damn near caught on fire. Ended up just eating the $500+ for that garbage.

Just my opinion.
That's exactly why I like running parts store units in dailys, you can literally stop in any town in the country to exchange the part and replace it in the parking lot.

I know have a DCpower 185A 👌🏻
yeah thats the one!
i got a 250a (or something) from dc power and its been fine, had to shave a little off the alt bracket to get it to fit, but run fine for 1k miles so far....
i will say that i had to bother the **** out of them to get it to ship... and it took like 4 months....
quality seems fine though... doesn't heat soak in traffic or anything... 13.8 constant....
my mechman was great in my z06 as well... 170a... put i think 3 or 4k miles on it without issue....
Nation's makes a nice unit and has the best installation instructions I have ever seen. The mechman had the highest Amps at idle I have ever seen but did not hold up in long run. I think they fixed the regulator issues though.
