Default ECS Kit pulley damage

Hello, I've had my ECS supercharger kit on the car for about 1.5 years, two driving seasons up here in Michigan. Poking around under the hood I noticed the tensioner pulley has a groove in it. This seems to be lining up with the edge of the belt and the outer edge of the crank pulley. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this. The belt has never broken or been taken off. Could it really be getting enough bounce in the belt loop to hit the crank pulley?

you need to tighten your belt. your belt has stretched and the spring tensioner is loose enough to slightly bounce off the crank pulley.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll check it the adjustment. It may be time for a new belt.

That's odd because it should stop right before hitting the balancer even if the belt broke.

Sorry to hijack the tread but mine hits the balancer when the belt is not installed. The tensioner only fits in one position in my case. I noticed my 6 rib tensioner did not hit but my HD 8rib setup hits.

Wanted to close the loop on this, I got around to changing the belt as part of the winter maintenance and the ID of the old belt is definitely longer than the new belt. Same part number, same belt. So there must have been enough wear or stretching to make a difference.

My tensioner does hit the crank pulley when there is no belt on there. I have to pull the tensioner out of the way to route to get the belt to lay on the crank pulley correctly before routing it to any of the other pulleys.

i had a similar situation of my own fault and my solution was to space out the pulley a bit

My tensioner also hits balancer... I have the ATI balancer (7.48")
