Default Mod question

I am only posting this as the mods I will mention are taking a bit longer than anticipated. It's more due to curiosity as to what to expect. I have a 2011 Z06 and looking for someone who has made a change similar to mine and your thoughts on the difference.

Before:
Basically N/A LS7 with all forged bottom end. Basically, every modification and bolt on you would expect and car was 611HP/556 TQ on dyno. Car felt strong from 4500-7000 rpm's, but felt a bit dead below that 4500 mark. TC probably did limit me and it did spin quite a bit with the nannies off. It was primarily the pull that seemed to lack until 4500 rpm's. Frankenstein heads with TS 4.2 stage 4 cam.

After:
It is getting an A & A supercharger with meth inj. Cam will be changed to a BTR stage 2 (told works well with FI type cam). Fuel system upgrade, flex fuel, and upgraded dewitts fan to start for cooling. Should be 750-800 RW HP.

I am thinking someone has done something similar and will have some input as to the difference. My main question would be expected torque? How was the difference in the power delivery? I am sure it will be linear, but hoping car wakes up below 4500 rpm's a bit. Stage 4 cam not fun to drive for my likes, but this should be better with a smaller cam?

Sorry if I am duping another thread, but don't see one this specific.

Russ-Appreciate the reply man. The tires are michelin run flat z's. I hate them. Any suggestions like continental extreme contact or or good drag radial? Thats next, unless the Michelins hold. Very doubtful. They are brand new when I bought the car with 700 miles on them.

on standard "street" tires, any fun factor acceleration will be like driving on ice. I have had decent luck running Toyo R888R drag radials. will somewhat hook 2nd and will still break the tires loose at the top of 3rd if the road is cool. 345/30/19 at 800 rwhp.

Yes, I have read about those. This is a weekend car that will see few miles with a few pulls here and there. No doubt, I will be getting something and either Toyos, MT's or Continentals. I have ZR1 rims 19 and 20, so that may hinder me a bit. I just don't like the Michelin Z's and/or run flats.

I can speak from 250 miles experience now. There are not words to describe how much FI pro I am. The car drives awesome. It's now fun to drive with a stage 2 supercharger cam. Drives nice and perfect, but when you need power, it's crazy. The michelins have to go for drag radials. Power, when psi/meth kick in, is awesome. I have tire spin out the you know what right now, but power comes in around 3-3.5 rpm's. It's strong to quite strong on the scale and my scale is tough. I am very pleased and this pulls like my 800 hp cts-v, but is quicker. Totally different world with the A and A supercharger and SS LSX build out of Concord, NC. E85 is a great thing in my mind. Love it when the green meth injection light come on. I am now a Z06 fan big time.

Surprised you only made 782rwhp on E85. With a boosted, built heads/cam LS7, I would think it would be hard to keep it under 800. Either way, get some drag radials or R888’s asap. Just don’t get Nitto NT 05r’s lol.

Yea I was told to expect around 800. It is that. I did see a RPM utube where a yellow one made 800+ with 5.5 lbs and stage 3 cam. Mine has right at 7lbs with this pulley and we figured that would be safe. Huge drivability difference and now power is felt in the 3k range very well. We can always go up in PSI, but I know the pro's and con's to that. So, that means I will probably do so, lol.

Thanks for the tire suggestions. Nothing else matters unless I can get some traction anyway, so tires are next as soon as I can find some.

These, P335/25/zr20, really limit my choices to Michelin and continental for rear traction. Not much else in that size. May have to use alter size unless someone has any suggestions...seems like the PSS ZP's on it are about as good as the extremes, so don't want to waste the money time with no benefit. I will search to see if getting away from the run flats would be much difference in the Michelins. I don't need run flats or at least don't want to need...

go ahead and ditch the run flats. it will make a big difference in the ride and also open your options for tire sizes. I don't have any experience running 20's, so I really can't comment on what size to recommend

Agreed. Ride as bad as the traction. I will find something even if I go to Michelin non'run flats per size.
