Been working on this thing for a while now slowly...between work and hunting season now it's slowed down...it's been a learing experience to say the least...never built anything like this so I've read and researched a bunch...still a lot to learn but I'm working on it...got a fuel system now and almost done welding the suspension and cage...leaving the door bars out till I get the inside done...but it's been fun so far...still a long way to go
keep it going! I love these builds. Hows the head clearance on the sides of the halo? Few cages I've seen on our cars have the sides of the halo and the pillar bars fabbed up as one piece and the halo is complete with a cross bar up front.
Haven't decided exactly what turbo/turbos yet...was gonna get a 427 dart block built...getting everything ready from back to front...thought about a single 88 will be ballpark for 1200 hp...building the turbo kit with the stock ls3 in it and send it till she blows...gonna pull it out and gap rings...swap some leaking gaskets too...going for a somewhat street car that will run decent at the track
Haven't done much the last few weeks. Between holiday and trying to hunt I've been neglecting the ol girl. Took the heads off and sold them to a friend. Got the radiator, ac condensed, and other loose ends out of the way. Ordered some frankenstein 311 boost monster plus heads while they were on sale. Got a btr shaft rocker kit in. Calling Borowski Monday to order a 427 short block. Getting things slowly together but making some progress when I can. For 250k on the engine, heads looked clean. I oiled the cylinders after pulling heads due to water that was left in them getting spilled
Got new hubs on the front and brakes installed all the way around...finishing line made a great product that installed super clean and easy...was a little more involved getting the spindles to accept the strange setup...looks good and should do the trick!
