Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Tuners that use HP and those that use EFI Live?

Bottom line, you end up tuned. Both are similar products to tune cars.

The tuning tools all do the same thing, other than the visual interface the final results are the same provided the tuner knows what he is doing. One software package will says theres does this or the other, but I find them to be equal other than the visual effects.

Not sure if this is true, but my tuner gave me the following analogy:

HP Tuners is to LS 2 Edit, what EFI Live is to HP Tuners. My tuner feels that EFI Live is a more technologically advanced program than HP Tuners, and as a result, a better tune can be achieved.

I don't even pretend to know how true this statement is, however, my Tuner is a really sharp guy and has worked with all three in the past. he only tunes with EFI Live. He feels that there is a night and day difference between EFI Live and the others.

Just keep in mind EFILive doesnt offer tuning for 06+ vettes because they are about 12 months behind in support development from where HPTuners is.
Nor do they offer 2 bar custom operating systems for 05's as of yet.

Both are full on tuning suites and are both great products, but HP Tuners is way out in front in developement of new products meaning they can offer more options in most cases.

I have a 2 bar SD tune done recently with EFI Live on my 2005 C-6.

I may have been one of the first. My tuner Beta tests for EFI Live. No disrespect to HP Tuners. I am sure you have a fine product. Most of my CF buddies have had their cars tuned with your product - and they speak very highly of it. The only tuning program I have had issues with was LS 2 Edit.

The only reason I was tuned with EFI Live is because that is the only program my new tuner uses.
