Mail order or in town tune????
So I have my LG headers, bullets and halltech intake installed and want to get tuned ASAP, as I won't be adding my blower til winter. Is there a big disadvantage to getting a mailorder tune vs having it done at my local shop??? The local is well know, but I have my doubts, was thinking of ECS or similar mail order. Any advice is appreciated

Were it mine and I had plans to add a blower in a couple months I would probably find a reputable qualified local tuner for a dyno tune and see if he would upgrade for the blower at minimal costs after the supercharger is installed. If not then get a less expensive but qualified tuner to send you an email tune for now. I assume you have a tuner so you can load it in yourself. Then pay the big bucks later when you get the SCer. And if you don't have a tuner then get one with a wide band. You will need it with that SC for sure.

The tuner says $350 for the initial tune and then $100 lifetime return tunes. I am just concerned because nobody that I know has used these guys, just "friends of friends", that kind of thing.

I would be cautious with the "friend of a friend" tuner. Particularly with a supercharge. You can ruin an engine real quick with a bad tune. The final price may be a whole lot more than $350!

Well, after a day or so of cruising around, my car is running like complete ****e....My local guy has some time today and spent about an hour talking with me yesterday and he seems like a knowledgable and capable tuner. Just realized that he is rally well known and respected in the gto community too. I will have him tune the car this morning and see how it feels

A dyno tune is a lot more practical then a mail order tune. On the dyno the tuner can monitor the various parameters of the car and make the correct judgment on what to change, then he/her can see if the change made an improvement or worse.
