When I try to read the PCM (with HPT) it gets to step 3 "Requesting Access" and I see the error message "Security Access Denied - Exceeded Number of Attempts". It then waits 10 seconds to retry and then shows "Failed" next to step 3.

I have had an issue on a 06 ZO6 like that. The ECU would not let me in. I had programmed the car about a year earlier but it had been at the dealer for warranty work and had been reflashed at least twice. We tried to fix the car late at night when we were at VIR. I got the same message and no matter what I did it would not let me in. It was determined that the ECU had something wrong with the RAM so I replaced the ECU and it has been fine since.
