Default Data logging - Sampling Rate

Does anyone know of a doc/site that compares the various tuning packages and their data sampling rates when logging? Std OBDII rates are super slow, do any systems use any proprietary (and faster) logging protocols?

I just checked a few different applications...

Obviously there are a few contributing factors to answer your question...
The more PIDs you log the slower it will likely be, and different PCMs can give up info faster than others.

I went through a log from an 04 F150 in our Dataviewer program and saw an average of 80 samples per second.
Going through a log from an 06 vette (E38) I see 55 samples per second, but there were 20 PIDs logged as opposed to the 8 or so on the f150.

Older Class2 GM PCMs are slower...
Looking at a log from my car (99 Z28) I see about 6 samples per second with 15 PIDs logged.

A few other random examples:
08 Dodge ram 4.7 (NGC4) 23 samples per second.
04 f150 (OAK) 83 samples per second

Wow, that is a very good rate. Is that something I can expect with the Diablosport recording on my LS3?

MPID's/DMA's usually offer a faster logging rate than std SAE pids, like Mike stated you'll see over 40fps for E38's for the most part.

24 Byte Max 48 Byte Max
1-6 Bytes 20 frames/sec 40 frames/sec
7-12 Bytes 10 frames/sec 20 frames/sec
13-24 Bytes 5 frames/sec 10 frames/sec
25-48 Bytes n/a 5 frames/sec

56 Byte Max 56 Byte Max E38/E67 ECM
1-7 Bytes 40 frames/sec 40 frames/sec
8-14 Bytes 20 frames/sec 40 frames/sec
15-28 Bytes 10 frames/sec 40 frames/sec
29-56 Bytes 5 frames/sec 20 frames/sec

Yes.

And I was mistaken on the Class2 sample rate...that was a log I took with the Predator itself (not live streamed to the DV software) thus it samples much slower.
