Default Aikman Performance Tuning

All, I'm in search of a new shop and tuner. I had my car in at Aikman Performance in Cedar Park(near Austin, TX) and I was very impressed with the professionalism and customer service. They seem very knowledgable mechanically. However, I'm looking to get my car tuned as I do further upgrades and didn't know if anybody had any experience with a tune from Aikman. Jerry does their tunes there and seemed to know his stuff. I won't just let anybody tune my car. I want somebody reputable and is willing and able to tune a mostly built car utilizing speed density. Thanks!

No personal experience except for going up there and BSing with him once. I have read plenty of good reviews on here about his work and his tunes. Aside from Aikman, there is http://www.hendersonperformance.com/ in New Braunfels and a few shops in Dallas (if you wanted to drive that far). Good luck and let us know how it goes.

There is also Dedicated Motorsports in Pflugerville and JMS performance in San Antonio.

Thanks. I have heard of JMS. I'll have to check out dedicated. My car just needs to be finished by a super knowledgeable person to perfect the tune. I'll probably just hit up Corey Henderson. He seems to be the best.

Not sure they have the knowledge and experience to perfect my tune. I'll hit up Corey Henderson.

Dave Steck is at Dedicated. I have not used him but I hear he is one of the best. Jorge at JMS is also really good.

Do you know if Dave Steck is familiar with tuning a vette with a full return style fuel system? I'm trying to workout some kinks which I believe to be tune related. After my previous bad experience at a shop I'll leave unnamed, I'm super picky on who touches my car now.

I have a turbo C6 that I built myself and had tuned at JMS, couldn't be happier. Jorge is an awesome tuner and helped me out with other things while there. I'd highly recommend them.

For what it's worth... I asked Aikman to tune my car but said he was booked for like the next 3 months. Not sure how true that is, or whether he just didn't want to tune it - who knows. Not waiting 3 months for a tune.

I also asked Steck at Dedicated to tune it and he said he wouldn't touch it unless it had stock injector or IDs (my car has FIC injectors)... not sure why. Jorge was able to tune it perfectly, and I have no drivability issues.

Here's my vette at JMS

lol, Dave Steck literally is the guy that made it possible to add flex fuel sensors to these cars... he's tuned everything you can imagine and is one of the best. I won't call him a nice guy, but he will do it right.

It's literally only 2 tables that are different between a full return style fuel system and the system C6's come with, not a big deal at all to anyone that has a clue.

Sounds good. I swung by the shop today and was impressed. Wasn't able to speak to Dave but I spoke with Andrew at length about fuel system stuff and developed a plan to get her running right. Really knowledgeable and great customer service. So I'll be giving DMS a shot. Thanks everybody for your recommendations.

Called these clowns to get a cam swap price 5 days ago. Messaged them on Facebook and these idiots STILL can't get back to me with a price.

Only reason I am calling Aikman is because Henderson Performance ins't doing Motor Work.

Henderson has worked on my 620 WHP GTO / 330 WHP Cobalt SS and my Vette.

If these guys can't return a phone call I don't trust them to touch my car. I didn't trust them years ago when I lived in Steiner Ranch I drove all the way to Henderson and after them not returning calls I really don't trust them.

Will be looking at going outside of Austin for this next Cam Swap on my Vette.

Super Disappointing.

Aikman must have gone downhill since the thread was started in 2016.

Thanks for the update.
