Default IAT sensor need help

I am changing to a Carb style intake. On my 1932 ford truck. But keeping my stock E38 EMC. And going to get a SD tune. I will be running a carburetor style, 14 inch round air filter. But I still need to install a IAT sensor. So where do I put it? And On my LS7 set up, the IAT and MAF are together in one plugin. So does someone make a IAT that, can be installed in the round air cleaner? And maybe plug into, the factory harness plug in? with the MAF wires removed. That would be ideal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are 2 common sensors that can be used for "remote" IAT's:

There's a metal sensor which I believe is used on ZR1 and CTS-V's, you can see some pics at the link below. The part number is "WT382" and you can usually get them at Advance or Amazon, etc. has them easy enough. They tend to heat soak more so I'm not a huge fan of these anymore.

The better option for you is probably the GTO sensor and a grommet from Dorman, this style:

IAT sensor is from a 2004 GTO, part number WT3036P
The rubber grommet is Dorman part number 42330
The IAT pigtail is part number PT778

Advance Auto has all of these in stock usually so that makes it easy

How does the rubber grommet setup work under boost?

I put my IAT sensor in the intercooler cold side end tank which more or less prevents heatsoak issues.

Haven't had any issues with it. ECS uses the same one pretty often. You do need to be careful when drilling the hole to make sure the grommet fits as tight as possible, but I haven't had any issues with it leaking.

Thank you greatly for all the part #s. And this great information.

And this will work with, my E38 ECU , and a LS7 engine?
