I want to thank Phil of TampaTuning.com for an eye opening education in tuning my 2009 z06. I had recently purchased the car and had a stage 3 upgrade by a reputable speed shop which included a dyno run that produced 560 WHP. The car ran great but was rough at the low end. I thought it was the result of the new cam. I reached out to Phil of Tampa Tuning and we agreed to meet. Phil hooked up his laptop with tuning software and spent roughly 4 hours analyzing the fuel and air flow mixtures and timing as we went through the rpm bands. This was done by doing a number of pulls reaching 140 mph. After each pull Phil would analyze the data and make additional adjustments until he was satisfied with the results. When he was done he smoothed out the low end roughness and gained 50 hp from the base analysis to the change when complete.

what I came to realize is that you can’t get that type of analysis and results from doing 10 second dyno pulls.

Phil can be reached a TampaTuning.com or 813-727-8720.

Phil fixed a tune on mine that would barely run at low end. It would bog and buck in the parking lot. Builder said that was normal for the cam he put in it. 15 mins and Phil had it running smooth as silk and scary fast when you opened it up.

Thank you for the kudo's.
The guys that have used my services know how much I enjoy getting the calibration right and how long it takes.

I've never had a vehicle tuned before, but really interested in having my 06 Base A6 tranny tuned up.

Once you have a car "tuned" like this, does disconnecting the battery and connecting the +/- terminals to drain anby capacitors erase the tune or do the changes made in a tune stay inside the ECM's like hardware? I guess what I'm asking is... can a guy accidently delete the "tune" adjustments made by removing the battery etc? Thx!

The tune will stay in the ecm as long as you don't reflash it or swap it.

You'd love it with a Tampa Tuning calibration. I can make your A6 transmission shift nicely in D mode, and Sport mode for racing. The chirping of the tires is icing on the cake.

Perfect! Thank you. I bought a car last week that had been "tuned" but disconnected the battery while working on it and wondered if I had inadvertantly erased the "tune". Thx!

The tune is burned to the vehicles computer. You wont lose it by disconnecting the battery.

Just want to share my experience with Tampa Tuning. Have a 2012 Grand Sport and added a Halltech MF103 cold air, Kooks 1-3/4 headers and catless X-pipe. I contacted Phil 3 days prior to installing the headers and had a base file within an hour. After installing the headers the car ran a little lean after data logging and Phil had another tune revision within an hour of sending the email. Not sure how many tuners are that responsive but can vouch that Phil is, and worth every penny. The 2nd revision was extremely close (1%) and then it was a matter of fine tuning some very small corrections on the last revision. Along the way Phil made it easy and answered all my questions. If you need a tuner, I can highly recommend Phil with Tampa Tuning. Later this year when I install a cam in the car, he will be my tuner for certain.

Just got my c6 tuned by Phil after putting a pretty big cam in, the drive there I didn't think it would ever drive like normal again, but after a few hours (and a few trips to Mexico) my car felt like a whole different beast. No more cam surge, no more jerking, can hardly tell there's even a cam in there (except for the noise lol) , until you stomp on the gas of course. 10/10 if I need any sort of tuning in the future Phil will be my go to.

Mine is a mostly stock LS2 C6, and Phil at Tampa Tuning really brought the car to life. Compared to exhaust and intake, a Tampa Tune provides much more bang for the buck. I enjoyed the process too - I learned a lot and it was fun watching the car improve through the tuning iterations. Highly recommend.

Phil is a perfectionist and absolutely awesome!!! We made 2 additional runs because Phil wasn’t satisfied with one of the parameters. According to the results my C5 gained an additional 55 HP! The engine has no hesitation and the transmission shifts are quicker and crisper. I am completely satisfied with the Street Tune and can’t wait to take my C5 to Gainesville Raceway to see how much it dropped my ET. I highly recommend Phil / Tampa Tuning!

Thanks again Phil! It was a pleasure meeting you!

Just got my C5 tuned by Phil. He did a really great job, really woke the car up with the mods i have and it's a whole new experience now! He was very informative while walking me through what might be going on during the process and was super helpful. I would definitely recommend him for any tuning or services he supplies!
