A few weeks back, there was some discussion in here about replacing the stock DRL/blinkers with blue lights that burned amber when on. Does anyone have any new info on these, if they are out, whatever??? I'd love to get rid of the amber bulb and replace it with a blue one.
Guess we'd have to know the bulb # too. Anyone have that info or know how to get it??
Are there any brighter DRL bulbs you can buy? Fog lights also?
Just bright enough where you don't have to replace the wiring, relays and alternator for the headlights upgrade and foglight upgrade and if possible brighter DRL's?
Buster,
Check this thread: Quick fix: replacing fogs
Then send a PM to StanleyP
JFT, welcome back! Can you help me out here. As you know the search function doesn't work too well. Any link to that thread??? What does StanleyP have that could help? Just wanting to know what to ask him.
The WCC lights are just about exactly what I'm looking for, except blue when off. My car is silver and I'd like to give it a little contrast and an "icy blue" stare. The silver is cool, but basically invisible when off.
Thanks for the link, that is EXACTLY what I'm looking for! And it does say for headlamps OR smaller turn signals. Now I just need to figure out how the get the C6 part ## for those bulbs and I'll be ordering them!
You might click on this link to find a store near you that carries the light, then take one of yours in and see if they have one that looks like a match. You might buy a standard (non-silver star) version which is inexpensive to try on your car. If it works, buy the silver star version of that number. You might try a #3157/4157AST to see if it fits. The part # for a C6 in the other link ends in 3157 so I would guess the above part # will intechange.
JFT, welcome back! Can you help me out here. ...What does StanleyP have that could help? ...Thanks for the help guys, I'll keep searching.
Buster, sent you a PM. StanleyP is all knowing He's very practical in his approach to upgrades. I trust his judgement. The replacing Fog Lights Post has "How to" pix courtesy of Michael (aka C6FirstVette), a great job.

Reason: typo
Thanks JFT, just PMed StanlyP to see what he knows about these DRLs. It appears that I might be "in the lead" on this C6 upgrade. If Sylvania doesn't carry this bulb yet, and the dealers don't either...
Maybe it's just too new. But the "scrambled egg" look under the beautiful headlamps is starting to bug me some.
I just purchased a pair of 3057AST and a pair of 3157AST bulbs on my way home. I took the stock bulb with me and compared it to the ones I picked up. I think the only difference between the 5702, 3057, 3157, and 4157 is the candlepower of the dim filament. All of the listed bulbs appear to have the same base and the same bright filament wattage of 27 watts.
I will install them when I return to my shop, hopefully tomorrow.
By the way they cost $14.95 a pair and you get $5 back with a rebate.
