Default Selective Ride shock questtions

I had this posted on the general forum but didnt get any definitive answers - thought I'd try it here...

I know there has been several previous threads on the pros and cons of selective ride but I have some specific questions I was unable to find anywhere. I have a DIC message that says "service ride control" - my local dealer says it is a bad shock and has the replacement on order. My question is - has anyone else had a bad shock issue yet with selective ride? I have read the threads that say that these shocks, although expensive, shouldnt have as many issues....I was wondering if that is proving to be true. My second question is that there was a thread discussing a miswired harness on the ride control (causing it to not have any observable effect) - was that determined to be an isolated case or should I have them check that also?

I've heard of one other.

Apparently they have few actual moving parts, hence - they SHOULD be very reliable. They will be VERY expensive to replace outside of your warranty period. HOWEVER, If I still have my car(F55) I will replace the shocks with Z51 shocks and carry on.

I had a "dis-connect" on my TCS switch and the mechanic noticed the wire was off my "Select ride" switch also but wasn't sure if it had been actually off or was disconnected when he took the center consol out.
He had also found a "wire" off one of my shocks but I never got a message on my DIC.......go figure....(?)
These little naggin' things were meant to test our patience......after all - we're supposed to 'vette pilots not Limos drivers.
