It won't affect the Corvette situation. The CAFE issue on the Vette is most likely due to a number GM set for just the Corvette. GM needs to change that number to a number that reflects Corvette owner's desires for the Z51 package.

No, the Z06 is coming out as a 2006 model and I am sure GM will shift the Corvette's contribution to the overall CAFE in relation to how many Z06s they believe will sell in 2006. Hopefully, they adjust the number for 2006 according to the Z06 AND additional Z51 production.
Stop building Hummers that just fill the lots of dealers!
The Hummer is considered a "truck" and as such is in a different category than the C6. The only things I can think of that eat more gas than the C6 and are in the same category are 2WD SUV's, some heavier V8 cars like the Caddy, GTO, etc. and maybe some minivans.

Hummer has no effect.
It does annoy me that the flagship auto has to be put on constraint due to the totals for their entire lineup. I'm not arguing CAFE, but it's unfortunate that the other vehicles in their lineup cannot be better and save the vette some more headroom.
Really, if you want to pick on the H2, then pick on it for what it actually is and what the Hummer actually was....People who buy the H2 and think it is a Hummer in the sense the orginal was need to lay off the drugs. I personally think it is funny so many signed up for the H2 and it is a glorified Yukon XL. Yukon probably does better off road, too.....

Todd you took the words right out of my mouth. A friend of mine owned a Hummer (a real hummer) for a few years and that thing was awesome (not the most practical street car but it was what it was).
The H2 is so rediculous...just my opinion, not trying to start anything.

On my way home I drive by the back lot of Caddi/H2 dealership - it is a huge lot and it is filled with H2s.
