Being a Corvette newb (Just got my first vette), I was wondering how hard am I supposed to torque on the wheel nuts on my C6? I just bought the GM wheel locks and need to install them. Thank a bunch!
100ft-lbs is what my c4 takes and it "feels" like every other wheel lug nut in terms of the amount of force I have to apply to tighten it to 100 ft-lbs
Thanks for the responses everyone. 100 ft/lb is what I took a guess on. The lugs on my wheels were at about 110 ft/lb cold though, but I don't think it's a huge deal. But yea I realized quickly to always use cold measurements. After a 25 miles freeway drive my torque wrench click off 120-125 ft/lbs and I still couldn't budge the lugs! Decided to wait til morning and 105-110 did it easily.
The price I paid for the locks from the dealer was about 30 bux. However, if you can get them straight from the manufacturer for about 17 bux. The brand is McGarde I think?
